Dear parents and carers,

At 5 pm today the Premier, Daniel Andrews, announced a 5-day lockdown commencing at midnight across the State to combat the latest COVID-19 outbreak in Victoria.

Tomorrow, Friday, July 16 has been designated a planning day and there will be no classes.

We will move to remote learning from Monday morning. All students are required to log in to their homeroom meetings on Monday morning via Teams to get further instructions for the day.

Students are expected to log in to every class via Teams at the scheduled times for each lesson to get directions for the class from their teachers. Teachers will offer a mix of ‘real time’ learning and ‘any time’ learning tasks to be completed. Some lessons will not require attendance for the full hour, but students must attend the start of each class for their attendance to be recorded.

Students were asked to take their possessions with them at the close of school today. Their devices and chargers are essential items to connect with their classes. Any students who are absent today can come to College Reception tomorrow morning and we will assist them to access their possessions.

Your contact points with the College remain the same. You can email Year Level Coordinators, homeroom teachers and subject teachers with your queries. You can also contact the school on 52339200 should you have any further enquiries.

Essential services workers with no other care options for their children, and households without internet access, should email principal@tcc.vic.edu.au with requests for care here at school, which will be available from Monday.

This supervision will be offered on a needs basis, with students accessing their classes online in a supervised room. These students will be required to attend school for the full school day in their correct school uniform and will be required to wear a mask. Normal bus services will be in operation.

This is another unwanted interruption for our students, but we are well-positioned to hit the ground running on Monday with systems and processes in place to continue learning.

As further information becomes available, we will distribute details via email, on our website, through Facebook and in short text messages. This is an evolving situation so we will advise of any significant changes.

Yours sincerely

Paul Clohesy, Principal
