Dear families
It was wonderful to be able to welcome back our senior students and staff this week. While we are very proud of the manner in which our whole community has embraced remote learning, there is nothing quite like having students interacting with each other and engaging in face to face learning and teaching.
When I spoke with the students on their first day, along with welcoming them back I did stress the need for them to adhere to the procedures we have put in place to minimise the risk of any infection and keep everyone safe. It would be great if you could also reinforce the need for them to maintain good hygiene practices. We have supplied plentiful amounts of hand sanitiser and disinfectant and we need them to use it.
In speaking with lots of the students, most are very excited about being back at school. If this is not the case for your child and they are finding the return difficult and stressful, please make contact with the relevant year level coordinator or homeroom teacher so we are able to provide support.
Trinity College has closely followed all advice relating to ensuring the school is as safe as possible. Despite the advice stating clearly that students don’t need to socially distance, we are reducing numbers in high traffic areas like the canteen and corridors. We are also limiting numbers in certain areas of the yard by rotating year levels through the oval.
We are following the medical advice stating that we should not temperature check students, however we have implemented very strict procedures in the event that a student or staff member reports any symptoms of coronavirus. To assist us, please don’t send students to school if they are showing symptoms.
Please be aware that we are waiting for contact from tour and accommodation companies so we can make a decision on upcoming events including the Ski Trip and Top End Tour. We are also waiting for restrictions on large gatherings to be removed before we can look at the possibility of rescheduling our College Musical.
Thanks again for your ongoing support of the College. We are certainly looking forward to Tuesday June 9 when we will finally have all students and staff back on the premises.
Your sincerely
Paul Clohesy
Principal
