Religious Education Program
Trinity College places great importance on the faith formation in our students and our staff. As an educational community we have a critical role to play in the evangelising mission of the Church, proclaiming and explaining the Good News of Jesus Christ.
We appreciate that every person is on a journey of faith; searching for meaning in their lives and exploring the spiritual dimension of their existence. Trinity College is sensitive to the varied stages of faith development that our students are experiencing and offers an ethos and a religious education program designed to help their faith to grow.
Religious education is integral to the Catholic identity and core curriculum of Trinity College and there is an expectation that every student will participate in religious education classes. The formal religious education curriculum is based on the Ballarat Diocesan framework, Awakenings.
Whilst Catholic theology forms the foundation for religious education teaching, other major world religions are studied so that students gain a broader understanding of different traditions and cultures. Opportunities are provided for informed discussion of many of the ‘big questions’, including moral and ethical issues.
