Banding Together
We have specialist instrumental tutors who visit the College to provide tuition for voice, piano, drums, brass, woodwind and string instruments, and participants have the opportunity to join one of our ensembles and perform at school events and external concerts.
Performance is an integral part of the progress of our musicians and regular evenings that showcase their developing talents are popular with the students and their families. Held in our auditorium and at external venues, the experience is invaluable to their learning and confidence and also a wonderful way to share culture and art with our community.
Trinity College has a number of music groups and ensembles that are available to all students, including:
- Concert and Events Bands
- Choir/Vocal Ensemble
- Junior Rock Bands
Instrumental Music Program
Trinity College supports an extensive Instrumental Music Program, with qualified tutors providing lessons on campus during the school day. To support this program, the College provides dedicated teaching spaces, and students may leave their scheduled classes to attend lessons. The College also subsidises the Instrumental Music Program and offers free tuition to students who join the Concert Band, helping ensure all students can access high‑quality musical learning opportunities.
Parents are responsible for lesson fees that fall outside the subsidy and free tuition, which are billed directly by the tutor.
In the interests of the safety of our students, we ensure that the tutors hold either a Working With Children Card or a Victorian Institute of Teaching Card. Music tutors also must sign a Child Safe Code of Conduct, read the Child Safe Policy and be familiar with and complete the Mandatory Reporting eLearning Module.
At Trinity, our Music program is vibrant and varied, with ensembles and bands that thrive in specialty spaces, including large teaching and rehearsal areas and soundproof, practical instrumental tuition rooms.
